This is Sulaiman at a few minutes old.
I wanted to talk about how Sulaiman is a nerd. How he started walking at 8 months; learned his ABCs and 123s when he was a year old; how he can now write and is starting to read at 3 years old; how he loves shapes and colors and learning; how he gives himself homework and studies after kindergarten…
Then he walked in and saw me writing about him.
So I decided to turn this into an interview session:
Me: What’s your name?
Sulaiman: Sulaiman
Me: How old are you?
Sulaiman: I’m three years old.
Me: What’s your favorite color?
Sulaiman: Red and blue
Me: What’s your favorite number?
Sulaiman: 1, 2, 3
Me: What’s your favorite shape?
Sulaiman: circle, triangle, rectangle and square
Me: How would you describe Sulaiman in three words?
Sulaiman: A, B, C
Me: What do you like to do for fun?
Sulaiman: I like puzzles, kids and pee pee
Me: What do you mean pee pee?
Sulaiman: It’s cookie
Me: Ohhhhh… You mean cookie.
Sulaiman: Shoba is ABCs.
Me: What does that mean?
Sulaiman: Shoba is ABCs.
Me: I don’t understand
Sulaiman: I want to say this one. ABCs shoba.
Me: What’s shoba?
Sulaiman: Shoba is ABCs.
Me: Anything else you want to talk about?
Sulaiman: Ikan. (Means fish in malay)
Me: Ikan? Like fish?
Sulaiman: Yes.
Me: What about ikan?
Sulaiman: Ikan is the fish. Yes. I want to talk something.
Me: What do you want to talk about?
Sulaiman: Toys.
Me: What toys do you want to talk about?
Sulaiman: This one!
Me: What do you want to say about it?
Sulaiman: This one.
Me: That’s all?
Sulaiman: Yes! That’s all.
