Ayub had been looking forward to going on an airplane for months. He talked about it non-stop everyday. “We going on an airplane Mama? We going to fly? Yeah! We going to fly in an airplane.”
Shortly after take-off:
Ayub: Hey! It’s snowing! Got snow outside!
Me: That’s not snow baby… That’s a cloud.
Ayub: A cloud?!
Me: Yeah, we’re flying into the clouds.
Ayub: WOW yeah! The clouds flying! Why the clouds flying? Where’s the airplane?
Me: We’re in the airplane.
Ayub: We in the airplane?!
Me: Yes.
Ayub: Yeah. We in the airplane. Later we go outside, play in the snow.
20 minutes into the flight:
Ayub: Mama?
Me: Yes baby?
Ayub: Can we stop the airplane now?
Me: Oh, no we can’t…
Ayub: But Ayub don’t want airplane. It’s enough airplane.
Me: But we can’t stop now, we’re in the sky. We’re flying.
Ayub: No. Ayub want to go home.
It was an 8-hr flight.
During mild turbulence on the flight:
Ayub: OHMYGOOOOOD!!! Mama! The airplane go up and down and up and down!
Me: Yes. Sit quietly. Don’t take off your seatbelt.
Ayub: Airplane go up and down and up and then CRASH!
Me: Ayub..!
Ayub: We gonna CRASH like BOOOOOM! Hahahahahaha…
Me: Stop it…
Ayub: We gonna CRAAAAAAASH!!!!
