Woaaaah… That’s a mouthful.
How to Help Your Child Learn to Talk Better in Everyday Activities. 😀
It’s a simple eBook created by speech-language pathologist May Lou B. Johnson. It’s for kids who have delayed speech or speaking disorders.
Now, my Ayub has delayed speech. Even today, as a 6 year old, he’s behind his peers in terms of speech development. His vocabulary is quite limited and with the exception of his teachers and close family members, nobody can understand Ayub when he speaks.
Poor baby.
I had his hearing checked at the hospital, in case that was the cause of his delayed speech and mumbly words. But his hearing is perfect.
So I brought him to a speech therapist when he was 3 years old. After speaking with him, playing with him and showing him a bunch of cue cards, the therapist said he was a little on the delayed side, but nothing unusual and he’s be just fine.
In my opinion, Ayub is so wrapped up in perfecting his other skills that he simply doesn’t have the time to focus on speech! Hahaha. He’s a happy child and that’s all that matters.
But if you want to help your child improve their speech, this is a simple, inexpensive way to start.
