Ayub: Mama, where are the minions now?

Me: Hmm? Minions..?

Ayub: Yeah minions. Where do they live now?

Me: Oh… Minions aren’t real baby, I’m sorry. They’re just in a movie.

Ayub: What?! Minions… are not real?

Me: No. I’m sorry.

Ayub: Ohhhh… What about dinosaurs? Are they real?

Me: Yeah! Dinosaurs are real! But…

Ayub: Where are the dinosaurs? What country are the dinosaurs Mama?

Me: Hmm… The dinosaurs died unfortunately. They’re dead.

Ayub: What?! The dinosaurs are dead? All the dinosaurs?

Me: All the dinosaurs. A really really big rock came from space and hit the Earth and BOOM! killed all the dinosaurs.

Ayub: Oh.

Me: Sorry kiddo.

Ayub: Minions are not real. And dinosaurs are dead.

Sulaiman: I made a girl for Mama but I don’t like her.

Me: Why, what happened?

Sulaiman: Her hair is fall off and now she’s ugly.

Sulaiman takes out a wooden popsicle stick with a smiley face drawn on the stick and paper dress stuck on. The paper hair had fallen off.

Me: Awww… I love her, I think she’s beautiful!

Sulaiman: But her hair is fall off.

Me: It’s ok. You don’t need hair to be pretty. Lots of boys and girls, and men and women, have no hair and they’re beautiful people.

Sulaiman: Oh. Atuk got no hair.

Me: Yup, that’s true.

Sulaiman: Oh. Atuk is bald and beauuuuuutiful!

The kids used to fight and scream and cry about coming first. Obviously because Ayub is older, stronger and faster, he’s always first. So we started talking about how awesome being second is, especially because Sulaiman is born second.

But now…

Sulaiman: Yay I’m second!

Ayub: No, I’m second!

Sulaiman: Noooooooooooo! You’re last!

Ayub: Noooooo… I’m second first!

Sulaiman: No, you’re first, I’m SECOND!

Ayub: I’m second first! I’m second first! Sulaiman is second last! Sulaiman is second last!
