Now I’m not a homeschooler. But my sister fully believed in the homeschooling system and her wonderful kids are doing fantastic. They get to learn at their own pace, among like-minded peers and under the tutelage of parents who teach for for free because they love it, and not for a paycheck.
(Sidenote: I know a lot of amazing teachers who teach because they love it and also because of the paycheck, so I’m not hating on anyone. I also know some not-so-amazing teachers that don’t love it and only do it for a paycheck 🙁 )
My niece Tasneem started reading at the age of 3 and has won numerous awards and accolades for her writing (she even won a smartphone after competing in a contest aimed at adults!)
Anyway, The Home Scholar is a program for homeschoolers. Targeted for teens. I’ve read a lot of good things about this program. Check it out if you’re a homeschooler or interested in helping your kid with their education 🙂
